New microdata on personal savings in Bangladesh

The Library was recently able to acquire data on local personal savings of users of the SafeSave scheme in Bangladesh.

The LTS product is a regular monthly saver product of SafeSave in Dhaka, Bangladesh (www.safesave.org). Clients living in local slums can commit to deposit 50,100, 200, 300...1000 Taka per month. The data contains both general account and LTS savings balances from 2006 to 2010 of clients who opened an LTS account between June 2009 and February 2010 at a particular bank branch, called Bauniaband branch.

This unique dataset is available for use of staff and students at LSE only. For access please contact datalibrary@lse.ac.uk.
